Recently saw The Bank Job. Not the sort of movie I normally go for, but it was a lot of fun. Very well written and lots going on; not for the typical ADDled movie-goer. (Catch the pun?) It wasn't a box office failure, by any means, but I wish movies like this did better so more would get made. Instead, we get the standard SFX extravaganza of the week and whatever pop-culture regurgitation that passes for a comedy these days.
In other news, I decided it was time to pick up all those comics I've been meaning to buy. I've been out of the comic scene for a while, since the downfall of Spawn--a time which differs depending on whom you ask. But I've been keeping a list of all the one-shots and mini-series that have caught my attention over the years, for whatever reason.
Round one includes: Astro City Vol.1 "Life in the Big City," Hellboy Vol.1 "Seed of Destruction," Sin City Vol.1 "The Hard Goodbye," V for Vendetta, and The Watchmen. After that, I'll likely pick up the appropriate Vol.2's, along with Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (already read it, but don't own it) and probably Kingdom Come (if only for Alex Ross' art).
Okay, here's the work-around. I can post unedited screenshots to my Scraps. You'll still be able to find the actual "posters" in an off-site link. So if you're not watching for Scrap submissions, go edit your settings now.
But no more Raven fanservice. I'm not going to argue with administration over what does and doesn't constitute "child pronography" because no matter how reasonable I try to be, I can only lose.
The first thing I noticed today was that DA administration took down 13 of my deviations; the 12 Halotivational Posters for copyright infringement (WTF?) and one of my Raven pics. Guh.
Yes, they will be reposted, with the addition of some adjustments to hopefully prevent any further administrative meddling. But this also means I have to go back through my gallery and tweak anything that might be construed as the slightest policy violation by some goon with a hard-on for fucknuttery.
Thank god! I was afraid the whole Serenity comic deal was going to be another red herring for us desperate fans. Here's the news I found trolling the IMDb boards:
